Dracula: A Love Story Review Conclusion

I might watch it again: there were some beautiful moments in this Dracula movie, and the take was quite different than expected. However, if Dracula has no servants in the castle, is he spending his free time cooking and cleaning? Oh no, wait, the house gargoyles were doing it.

And I felt there were elements of Dracula: The Un-dead in this story, perhaps it was the location, the elements of theatre, or how certain characters were portrayed. I am sure I could not say for certain exactly what it was that made me feel this. But there was a flavour of familiarity that was not Dracula himself.

Leaning heavily into obsession, with a side of vampire and debauchery, the movie was -for me, at least- less than promised. And yet, the sets were beautiful, the music fitting, and the characters compelling.

If you feel compelled to watch it, then by all means, go ahead. I would not deny you the experience.
