Scarpetta, Man on Fire, The Mummy | March Roundup

Scarpetta was an excellent watch, based on the books by Patricia Cornwell, the story was baked in. And that’s what I’m hunting for lately, good stories, I’m so tired of sitting down to watch something that looks like it’s going to be excellent (from the trailer and the social media coverage) and then has a weak storyline. Some of them are not even putting the effort into grabbing my attention in the first episode, never mind carrying a story through that makes sense. And I don’t want to point fingers -you know I don’t review anything that I would score under a 3/5 (why should I keep watching if it’s not gonna even warrant a 3?)- because the show or movie can be excellently shot, with brilliant acting, and perfect music, but if there’s no reason to care and nothing that makes me want to know what happens next, I’m putting something else on. So, I have high hopes for Man on Fire and Lee Cronin’s The Mummy.

The other shows I’m really looking forward to watching are Daredevil: Born Again S2, The Burbs, and The Murder Line. And maybe I’ll stumble on something else that will keep me engrossed for it’s entirety.

Scarpetta

A really good, engrossing show. It kept me hooked from the beginning and I basically binge watched the whole series in one weekend. I wasn’t sure about who was playing each character, to begin with, they seemed like odd choices -or perhaps, the correct way to put that is to say that they are not how I imagined those characters, but it definitely worked.

A brilliant forensic pathologist uses forensic technology to solve crimes.
