Sharp screams, sharper knives, pure cult!: Every story threads neatly together, the performances bring real bite, with screams that echo long after the credits roll, and a cast that leans into their roles with relish. The moments of implied violence are all the more unsettling for what they leave to the imagination. That restraint makes the shocks sharper, the menace more playful, and the atmosphere deliciously tense.
All in all, it’s an enjoyable watch that proves Jim Haggerty knows how to deliver indie horror with wit and wickedness. I can’t wait to see what he conjures up next.
