Firestarter -You don’t have to be afraid | KT Review

Forgot Firestarter was coming to NowTV Cinema, so it was a nice surprise to finally sit down last night and find this movie ready for me to watch. So Naturally, I had to review it.

**Warning: there may be spoilers ahead**

Starring Tina Jung (Suits, Strays), John Beasley (The Purge: Anarchy, Walking Tall), Kurtwood Smith (RoboCop, Broken Arrow), Gloria Ruben (Mr. Robot, Cloak & Dagger), Michael Greyeyes (I Know This Much Is True, Wild Indian), Sydney Lemmon (Helstrom, Velvet Buzzsaw), Ryan Kiera Armstrong (The Tomorrow War, American Horror Story), and Zac Efron (Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, The Greatest Showman).

A young girl tries to understand how she mysteriously gained the power to set things on fire with her mind.

Firestarter Review Conclusion

I’d watch a second one: This movie felt like the first part in a series and I would happily watch the next one or two or three. I’ve never read the book so I have no comments on how it compares. I just enjoyed it as a movie and will probably watch it again because I definitely felt like I missed things. I did feel like I wanted more information about the experiments but that was part of what made me feel like there needed to be a second part. That and the way it ended. Loved the effects and the conflict between what they should do as parents to a little girl and responsible adults with a potentially dangerous child in their care that needs help controlling her gifts. As a stand alone movie it could have given more but I enjoyed the watch and would love to see another one to further Charlie’s story.
