A huge thank you to the Movie Makers who have trusted me with reviews in 2023. I love discovering new movies -of all lengths- and getting to see them before anyone else I know (it’s even more fun when they show up on streaming services and I can go “Seen it!”)!
I’ve watched some marvellous stories, amazing acting, and special effects that are off the wall. I appreciate how much time, skill, coordination, and planning go into these projects -and there’s probably a whole heap of stuff I have no idea even happens- and I hope you go on creating in 2024. Let me know what projects you have in the works, where I can follow along (maybe learn more about the process), and when we can expect your next work of art.

What I Look for in a Movie
I really want to feel engaged. I want to be invested in what’s going to happen next or how the hero is going to get out of their sticky situation. A good story arc is always important. I don’t want to be left at the end of the movie wondering why it hasn’t answered the questions it raised. You’ll always get me interested with creepy, weird, and scary stuff, and if you have sprinkled a little dark humour throughout, I’ll probably forget about the popcorn.
One of my favourite things is watching how actors bring the characters to life, watching them vibe of each other and draw me further into the story. And finally, I really want to see your art, how you express yourself through your creation and how you and your cast and crew have brought the story to life. And because this is what I want to see in a movie, this is what I reward it for.
Just thought you should know in case you were considering hooking me up with another horror, western, dark fantasy, sci-fi, or weird and wacky movie.
