Gale Stay Away from Oz, Cobweb, Threads | KT Blog

Gale Stay Away from Oz and Cobweb are two upcoming horror movies a reader has brought that to my attention. And it’s horror, so I just had to dig deeper because I’m pretty sure Return to Oz was a horror movie. I will definitely watch a Wizard of Oz horror. If you’ve joined Threads (or haven’t yet), you can join me if you follow the instructions at the bottom of this page 🙂

Cobweb

“Cobweb” is an upcoming horror movie directed by Pablo Trapero. Set in a small town, the film follows the story of a family that moves into a new house with a dark past. As they uncover the secrets hidden within the walls, they find themselves entangled in a web of supernatural occurrences and terror. With a suspenseful plot and chilling atmosphere, “Cobweb” promises to deliver a dark and thrilling watch.

Coming July 21st in the U.S. and some unknown date in the future for the U.K. (as per usual!) and starring Lizzy Caplan (Cloverfield, Now You See Me 2), Antony Starr (The Boys, American Gothic), Cleopatra Coleman (Dopesick, In the Shadow of the Moon), Ellen Dubin (Dune, M3gan), Luke Busey (Change of Heart, Bunk’d), and Woody Norman (The War of the Worlds, The Current War).

Horror strikes when an eight-year-old boy named Peter tries to investigate the mysterious knocking noises that are coming from inside the walls of his house and a dark secret that his sinister parents kept hidden from him.

Gale Stay Away from Oz

Dorothy Gale, a farm girl from Kansas, found herself whisked away to the twisted Land of Oz after a tornado destroyed her world. In this dark and dangerous place, she embarked on a treacherous journey to find her way home, encountering strange companions and facing the cruelty of wicked forces. With the help of Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, Dorothy discovered that a pair of enchanted slippers held the key to her escape. Finally returning home, Dorothy couldn’t shake the haunting memories of her terrifying adventure, knowing that the Land of Oz still lurked, ready to ensnare unsuspecting souls.

Struggling with her memories of Oz, Dorathy gets placed in a psychiatric hospital. Dorothy finds herself back in Oz along with her new friend, a talking chicken named Billina. She meets unique characters like Tik-Tok, a mechanical man, and Jack Pumpkinhead. Together, they must rescue the Scarecrow, who has been captured by the Nome King. With courage, determination, and the help of her new allies, Dorothy faces the Nome King and saves Oz once again.

And now, Dorathy has aged, an old woman plagued by years of entanglement with the mystical realm of Oz.

The release date is still to be determined, but with an English Director and cast, maybe we’ll be lucky and get it first, here in the UK.

Long gone are the days of emerald cities and yellow brick roads. In this dark re-imagining of the Wizard of Oz, Dorothy Gale is now an elderly woman, broken by years of paranormal entanglement with a mystical realm.

Will you be joining me on Threads?

Are you on Threads? I woke up the morning after Threads launched to a message from Instagram telling me someone had posted on Threads. And obviously I followed the thread, went down the rabbit hole, and joined. But not as K.T. McQueen -I might do that at a later date- but for now, just as my regular self. It feels like Instagram and Twitter had a baby and everyone is excitedly tiptoeing around so as not to wake it whilst they do things to make it smile.

Twitter is much faster, and far more ground in. What I am finding on Threads is, because they populated it with celebrities and influencers and blue tick people first, they are the ones filling your feed if you follow them on Instagram (easy integration from Instagram to Threads) because not all the none blue tick people have jumped on board yet. And it’s hard to build your community with people who don’t really see you. So, if you’re hopping on board and want some of my behind the scenes, everyday stuff (including the side hustle day job), here is my Instagram -all you do is click the @11132397 under my name and if you’re on Threads, it will take you right there.
