Jigsaw – There are Rules

Now available on Netflix UK, Jigsaw is the latest instalment of the Saw franchise – in case you couldn’t tell. And now all the hype’s died down I can watch it without thinking about what he said or she said. And before you start to wondering, I have watched all of the others.

So I grabbed myself a coffee and a sandwich and sat down to watch. I wasn’t disappointed.

Jigsaw

When gruesomely mutilated bodies start turning up around the city all the evidence points to one man, a serial killer who has been dead for ten years. Is it a copy cat? And will the investigators find who’s doing it before more bodies show up.

Starring  Matt Passmore (Lethal Weapon TV Series, The Glades), Tobin Bell (Manson Family Vacation, Saw), Callum Keith Rennie (The Man in the High Castle, Jessica Jones), Hannah Emily Anderson (The Purge TV Series, Killjoys), and Clé Bennett (Homeland, Heroes Reborn).

Jigsaw Movie Review Conclusion

I will probably watch it again – I really enjoyed Jigsaw, kept thinking I knew who it was then I’d think it was someone else and I really wasn’t expecting who it turned out to be. Whilst it got a little dramatic in places it was visually pleasing (is it weird to say that about a gore movie?) and kept me engrossed.

4 Stars

Not gonna lie, this movie isn’t for everyone. It has plenty of blood and gore, dangerous situations most of us wouldn’t want to be in, some interesting noises, and a lot of questionable choices. But I also felt it held off on showing all the gory stuff, letting your imagination fill in the gaps when it could. So this is probably not a first date movie, or a good horror to show to your visiting nephew, but a few friends, a few drinks, and maybe a bucket or two for those with a weaker stomach, it could be a good night in.
