Our House -A Machine to Raise the Spirits (of the dead) | KT Review

With some familiar faces, the trailer for Our House intrigued me. But it’s taken me a while to get around to watching it. It wasn’t because I was scared, honest. But today seemed like the day, and so, here is what I thought of Our House. Using science to accidentally raise ghosts when it’s more often seen being used to detect them, this family get more than they bargained for.  A fairly recent addition to Netflix, if you haven’t seen it yet you might want to check it out.

Our House on Netflix

When a young man trying to build a device to electrically charge items without ever needing to plug them in accidentally amplifies paranormal activity instead, it affords a grieving family the opportunity to bring back their recently deceased parents. Unfortunately, they’re not the only ones that come visiting.

Starring John Ralston (Bitten, Pound of Flesh), Thomas Mann (Kong: Skull Island, Hansel & Gretal: Witch Hunters), Percy Hynes White (The Gifted, Between), Lucius Hoyos (Heroes Reborn, Between), Allison Hossack (Fringe, The Expanse), and Kate Moyer (Holly Hobbie, It).

Our House Review Conclusion

I might watch it again:– Not a bad little film. My favourite scene was the bath scene but there are loads of excellent special effects. There were a couple of moments where it could have lost me -mostly because the pace got a little slow. Creepy, weird, but not too dark.

3.5 Stars

You probably just wanna go with a pizza and soda for this one, less washing up that way. This is a mid-week horror, you don’t want it to keep you up all night and it’s okay to watch with friends.
