I always get excited by film festivals, all the new films to choose from and anticipate. The movies I’ve missed, special screenings, and the possibility of being one of the few to see a new movie for the first time. But I didn’t realise we had quite so many film festivals in the UK. I love that some make it possible for people to get involved no matter where they are in the country with screenings at a variety of venues and online. But I do think we should have one in the North East. Oh no, wait we do!
The North East International Film Festival will run from the 18th to the 24th of November. And will include VIP events, workshops, and special screenings. A screening of the finalists films, and an awards ceremony. You can buy a 3-day pass for all the screenings. The venues are the Live Theatre, The Exchange 1856, Jam Jar Cinema and Lounge Bar (the pass does not include screenings at this location and are ticketed individually), ChachaBuchi, and The Cluny 2, Star & Shadow Cinema, Newcastle University Culture Lab, Northumbria University, and The Biscuit Factory.
