The New Movie from The Witch Director
Robert Eggers gave us The Witch and his new movie, The Lighthouse appears no less intriguing. Set in New England this story is a fantasy horror. And Willem Dafoe will be playing Old, one of two lighthouse keepers on a remote island in the 1890s.
The story of an aging lighthouse keeper named Old who lives in early 20th-century Maine.

The Lighthouse Starring Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson
Whilst I always think Twilight and Harry Potter when Robert Pattinson is mentioned, he has starred in a number of movies since then. Including Maps to the Stars, Queen of the Desert with Nicole Kidman, Life, The Lost City of Z, and most recently Damsel.
Willem Dafoe has recently been seen in Murder on the Orient Express, What Happened to Monday, The Great Wall, and one of my fav trilogies (of which we’ve only had two so far) -John Wick.
And starring Valeriia Karaman as the Mermaid.
On the movie
Filmed in Nova Scotia, the film has been shot on 35mm Black and White stock. And it looks amazing.
“This new script blew us away – it creates a totally unique and ambitious universe and manages to somehow feel scary, suspenseful, wondrous, and beautiful all at the same time.’

Not the only Movie named The Lighthouse
Although, perhaps not to be confused with the 2016 film The Lighthouse based on real events. Set in 1801 in the Irish Sea. Starring Mark Lewis Jones, Michael Jibson, and Ian Virgo. About two lighthouse keepers stranded at seas during a freak storm. And their descent into despair and desolation.
