Mom has an imaginary friend…
Starring Teresa Palmer, Gabriel Bateman, and Maria Bello Lights Out is the story of a spirit attachment that tries to control who can be in the lives of the family. Mom thinks she has control, that it’s simply her friend. Until things start to go very wrong. Rebecca must find out what the spirit it before her little brother’s life is completely messed up.
Caught this on my NowTV box the other day. And whilst I thought it had a bit of a week story-line it was still enjoyable to watch. Loved the whole lights on nothing there, lights off wtf is that thing that was going on.
*Spoilers ahead*
Some of the answers to questions that arose were a little too easy. I thought the mother was too quick to give up and kill herself. And took too long to see that there was a problem since she’d obviously been through the same thing with her daughter when she’d lived at home. I felt I wanted a little bit more time/info on the institution scenario. But even with all that I still enjoyed it. It wasn’t particularly jumpy for me but it was well acted and shot.
Lights Out Review Conclusion
I’ll watch it again – It didn’t make me want to keep the lights out when I went to bed but it was a pretty entertaining movie. Where it lost points for having a week story-line it gained them for the action and creeps.
