April Roundup
With some good movies -like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2- screening this month and the Tribeca film Festival at the end of the month there’s a lot going on. Just not so much on TV.
It feels like TV tapered off a little this month, things finishing, others not ready to start. I’ve started reading Neil Gaiman’s Norse Mythology instead of turning the TV on some nights. It feels…different. But the Gods are arriving on our TV’s soon so the book will have to be read at bedtime instead.
TV Land: iZombie, Bates Motel, & Outcast
Loving the new series of iZombie but I hate having to wait for new episodes, if you haven’t begun watching season 3 yet you can catch up on Netflix. And do not tell me anything about Bates Motel, I’m way behind so no spoilers!
- Outcast – Season 2 – Fox April 3rd
- iZombie – Season 3 – Netflix April 5th
- Bates Motel – Final Season – Universal April 11th
- Mystery Science Theatre 3000: The Return – Season 1 – Netflix April 14th
- Doctor Who – Season 10 – BBC April 15th
- Born to Kill – Channel 4 April 20th
Outcast – Fox
I love how dark and messed up this series is. So many different things the characters are dealing with and yet it’s all intertwined. I can’t help thinking this is just going to keep getting darker and I’m pinned to my seat every Monday night.
Born to Kill – Channel 4
I haven’t sat down to watch this yet but I will be spending some time catching up this weekend. It looks very creepy and disturbing and I think it should be an interesting watch. But, I’ll let you know 🙂
Movie Land: The Belko Experiment, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, Raw
- Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 – April 28th
- The Belko Experiment – April 21st
- Raw – April 7th
- A Dark Song – April 3rd
Tribeca Film Festival
If you’re anything like me you follow a few celebs on social media. And more than likely you’ve seen plenty posts of them preparing for Tribeca. But what’s it all about? Well, the Tribeca is a huge event where you can watch talks, shorts, first screenings, try out new technologies, hear from those just starting out, and veterans with many films under their belts. Plus you can vote on the films you are seeing through their app. And if you’re lucky enough to get there you may just see the next big thing before everyone else – that is, everyone else who couldn’t go.
But if you can’t get there you can check out the highlights on the Tribeca Facebook page – here’s the Crypt TV panel for your enjoyment 🙂 (give it a minute to play) It’s a really interesting talk.
Upcoming for May:
I can’t wait for King Arthur, the trailer looks amazing, and the next Alien movie this month too? Not to mention the start of American Gods for the UK on Amazon Prime and Season 2 of Sense8 on Netflix – which if you haven’t watched any of yet, I highly recommend it. Looks like things are about to get good again!

- King Arthur: Legend of the Sword – 19th May
