MaleVolent – A Reality Check From Beyond | KT Review

Yes! Creepy music, a British Manor house, and a reality check from the other side. MaleVolent is based on the novel Hush by Eva Konstantopoulos (available on Amazon here), four friends make money helping people get rid of their ghosts -even though they don’t believe there’s actually anything there. And desperate for money, the group take a case in a huge manor house to clear it of noisy spirits. What they find is more real than they ever expected.

One of the movies/shows from my Halloween Watch List post, I’m watching and reviewing MaleVolent – which looks amazing.

MaleVolent

A brother and sister team of scam artists, they prey on the bereaved and vulnerable pretending to be ghost hunters. They think they are about to make easy money when a woman summons them to her home. A home that was once the location for a string of murders. The team think the woman mistakenly believes her house is haunted. It isn’t long before they discover how wrong they are.

Starring Florence Pugh (Lady Macbeth, The Commuter), Ben Lloyd-Hughes (Insurgent, Me Before You), Georgina Bevan (Juliet, Naked, The Royals), Stephen McCole (The Legend of Barney Thompson, Atlantis), Celia Imrie (Nanny McPhee, Patrick Melrose), and Nicola Grier (London Spy, Waterloo Road).

MaleVolent Review Conclusion

I would watch it again – Yes! This is a brilliant film. You know you’re going to eventually get real ghosts but then it gives you even more. More than you were expecting. This is not simply a ghost story or a scam story. This is something else. Presented simply, as is, with little in the way of effects it has a very involving story that has you believing everything that is happening.

4 Stars

Unusually for a ghost story, it’s shot in the daytime which does nothing to lessen the effects and although it may feel a little slow in some places it gives you time to absorb what you’ve seen.

Moon by K.T. McQueen

A young woman with a promise to keep.
Another with a curse to lift.
And a werewolf looking for a new mate.
When Alice invited her friends, Sarah, Paul, and Dave to stay in her Grandmother’s Romanian farmstead they were expecting to take a break from studying and have a good time. Of course, that wasn’t the only reason Alice was there but her friends didn’t need to be involved in that. And she could happily show them where her family was from. And the town where she had spent her summers without them ever suspecting anything.
But then they meet the hunter, the werewolves catch their scent, and Sarah reveals a secret that could end her friendship with Alice and spell disaster for all of them.
