You know me with werewolves, it’s a kinda love-terror relationship. But this one was on the love side. Werewolf by Night had its ups and downs, and all packed in to a comfortable 55 minutes. The monsters were great, and the werewolf turned out to be someone completely different than I suspected. Didn’t even give me nightmares, just a nice comfortable cosy feeling as the rain hammered against the windows and I ate my candy sticks from the sweet shop.

Werewolf by Night
Starring Gael García Bernal (Mozart in the Jungle, Station Eleven), Laura Donnelly (The Nevers, Britannia), Harriet Sansom Harris (Addams Family Values, Atlantic Crossing), Kirk R. Thatcher (Star Trek: Picard, Dread of Night Radio Theatre), Eugenie Bondurant (The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay -part2), and Leonardo Nam (Westworld, Pacific Rim: The Black).
What did I really think…
More please: A little slow to start, took me a minute to get into and figure out what was going on but that was okay because once I got it, I was glued. If they made a whole series of these, I would watch them all. There’s something about black and white movies (yes, I know it wasn’t totally black and white) that draws you in, reduces distractions if you like.
The monsters were great, there’s just something good about people in costumes bringing the monsters to life. Did it send me down memory lane, make me want to put Dracula on or Frankenstein? Yes, yes it did. It also gave me some interesting decorating ideas…
Part of the MCU and based on a comic book, this (somewhat shorter than other marvel superhero movies) movie made me smile.
