I’m getting reports of coffee tables tipping over, drinks being spilled, and people suddenly and unexpectedly wearing their supper. The first episode of Trigger Point, all set in a single location, ebbed and flowed with tension until the climax was inevitable -and I still sodding jumped. There will probably be spoilers ahead, if you didn’t watch it you should probably go do that first.
Trigger Point
A six part ITV drama series that follows, Metropolitan Police bomb disposal officer, Lana Washington. During what appears to be a highly creative and insidious bombing campaign.
Starring Vicky McClure (Line of Duty, Alex Rider), Adrian Lester (The Day After Tomorrow, Riviera), Nabil Elouahabi (Infinite, Blitz), Warren Brown (Luther, Strike Back), Salima Saxton (Jam & Jerusalem, Twenty Twelve), and Manjinder Virk (Midsomer Murders, The Beast Must Die).
Review Conclusion
Yup, totally watching the whole series: I enjoyed it, although it was a little bit obvious in places. Still worth it for the explosion at the end. Yes, it was obviously going to happen but it was set up so well that I jumped anyway. There’s obviously a lot more to learn about the characters with only hints being given and I’m not sure how much they can give us in only six episodes with all that tension building going on but I’ll definitely keep watching. Hopefully every episode will fulfil expectations with explosive drama.
What was I eating? Luckily I was only drinking coffee at that point and had just put the mug down before the climax. So, I was definitely not one of the unfortunate few who ended up spilling or wearing food and drink. I will be taking this into consideration next Sunday when prepping to watch the next episode (9pm on ITV) and making sure I’ve finished all snacks, food, and drink before the half way point.
