As I mentioned on my Twitter feed, I wasn’t sure whether to watch Prey or not. There’s a lot of shows and films that feel like an ‘okay, we’re gonna do a new [insert franchise name] because everyone will love that and it’ll save us coming up with something new’ kinda thing. And yet, I keep finding myself enjoying them -or some of them, anyway. Luckily, Prey was one of the ones I enjoyed. A lot more than I was expecting too.
The origin story of the Predator in the world of the Comanche Nation 300 years ago. Naru, a skilled warrior, fights to protect her tribe against one of the first highly-evolved Predators to land on Earth.

Prey on Disney+
I will be watching this again: loved it, but I’m not expecting another one. And if the Predator movies ended here I wouldn’t be sad. Although, I also kinda wanna see what else they can do. Loved that it was Native Americans, that’s sort of always been what the Predator reminded me of, and that it was early forms of weaponry until she learnt to…no wait, that would be a spoiler ha ha ha, can’t be giving that away. The dog was totally awesome, I heard this was his first role and I think he has a great career in front of him. I could easily rewatch this this afternoon and I’m starting to think my reluctance to watch certain movies is an indicator of just how much I’m going to enjoy them when I do. A great movie, an easy watch, and even if you’ve never watched a Predator movie before I reckon you’ll enjoy this one.
