Goosebumps & Ghostbusters | KT Blog

Social media has been advertising the new series of Goosebumps at me -with Ross from Friends in- as if I didn’t know the series existed. Which I didn’t! How did I not know there was a Goosebumps series on Disney+? Now don’t get me wrong, I never watched the series when I was a kid. I’m aware there was one but I don’t know whether we didn’t have the channel it was on or I was too old by the time it aired, so I’ve never seen the original series. And whilst I did read and love R.L. Stine books, it wasn’t the Goosebumps ones I read. So, I was pleasantly surprised when I found the new series (just series 1, 2 isn’t out yet) on Disney+ and got stuck right in. It’s kinda sticky in place, gross in others, and totally messed up. I love it!

“Goosebumps” is a horror series telling the story of a group of five high school students who unleash supernatural forces upon their town. Now, they must work together in order to save it.

Which means the new Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire movie on Netflix has to wait. We went to see the last one in the cinema but didn’t get to go this time, so we’ve been patiently waiting for it to appear on streaming. And as a result, waiting whilst I finish binge watching the first series of Goosebumps isn’t that hard. I know it’s there when I’m ready for it. Which will be later today (I have Tesco’s Toasted Marshmallow Popcorn entirely for this purpose).

We’ve got Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Fin Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, and certain other familiar faces showing up to tackle those spooks. And if it’s as good as the last one, I won’t be contactable for the entirety of the movie. Or moving anything other than my hand from the bag to my mouth.

When the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second ice age.
