Merrit Wever is swiftly becoming a favourite on my screen, once again bringing her whole self to her role in Charlie Says. Playing Karleen Faith, the girl’s teacher, she helps them to share their lives and gain insight into women’s rights and Manon’s teachings. Matt Smith is an excellent Manson giving the character a sense of insecurity you don’t often see.

Through their studies, they reveal what life was like with Charles Manson and the Family on Spahn Ranch. How they lived, how they fended for themselves, and what they gave up to be part of the group. Following the story of one all American girl giving up her life and her family to join Charles Manson’s and doing things she probably wouldn’t ordinarily have considered.

Charlie Says Review Conclusion
I might watch it again – An interesting watch, the focus being on the three women was a pleasant change and the way they looked back at events rather than presenting it as happening in a linear way meant you got three different viewpoints of who Charles Manson was, how they each perceived both him and each other within the family. A well-positioned movie, given all of the Charles Manson related movies and shows we’ve seen recently. Well worth the watch.

Whilst this film might put you off your vegetables (probably best not to eat them whilst watching) the part that made me cringe just a little was the blood on the teeth scene -keep an eye out for that.
