Can we stop putting female spies/assassins etc in heels now? I get that there are some instances where it’s the best option, but climbing around the outside of a building, or running, would probably require better footwear.
This movie first made me think of James Bond, and then that Christian Slater series, My Own Worst Enemy (I liked this series). And there was a little Jason Bourne towards the end there.
Starring Kate Beckinsale (Underworld), Rupert Friend (Hitman: Agent 47), Ray Stevenson (Thor), Jaz Hutchins (The Return), Goran Kostic (Ant Man & The Wasp), and Ben Miles (Andor).
Canary Black Review Conclusion
I might watch it again: It’s an easy watch, not a particularly layered story, but it itches that action movie need. I definitely wanted to know what happened next but there were a couple of easy jumps in the story that disappointed. And a lot of leaning into stories retold. I’d probably even watch another one, especially after that twist at the end.
