Stylized like 1980’s slasher movies, American Horror Story: 1984 promises some bad clothing decisions and a lot of sharp pointy things. The 1980s gave us slasher movies: Nightmare on Elm Street, Children of the Corn, and Friday the 13th, Halloween II, My Bloody Valentine, Sleepaway Camp, amongst others. Maybe we’re gonna need a checklist to tick off the ones that show up.
The opening episode sees five friends escape Los Angeles to work as camp counsellors.
Even Peters will be taking a break from this season of American Horror Story. It’s also not a sequel season and isn’t continuing on from Apocolypse. Could there be aliens? We don’t know yet but the 1980s did give us rather a lot of Alien movies, like Alien for example and The Thing. And of course, in October of 1984, there was the release of the movie adaptation of George Orwell’s classic 1984.
Previous seasons:
- Murder House
- Asylum
- Coven
- Freak Show
- Hotel
- Roanoke
- Cult
- Apocolypse
