Westworld: Hell Yeah!

This looks amazing

Okay, I know it’s a bit early in the year to be deciding what to watch in the Autumn – practically wishing the summer away – but I just saw the Westworld trailer and I can’t wait. A series set in a futuristic theme park where your darkest desires can be experienced.

But the shows making has seen clashes and stalls. Production stopped last December and there were some questioning whether or not it would be ready this year or even finished at all. Now with an October air date and an all star studded cast it would be a travesty to miss it.

10 Episodes – 1 hour each – Amazeballs cast – Westworld

If this doesn’t fall into the weird west catagory I don’t know what does – and they’re putting it on TV!

Set at the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past, it explores a world in which every human appetite, no matter how noble or depraved, can be indulged. – HBO

Star Studded:

  • Anthony Hopkins
  • Ed Harris
  • Evan Rachel Wood
  • James Marsden
  • Thandie Newton
  • Jeffrey Wright
  • Tessa Thompson
  • Sidse Babett Knudsen
  • Jimmi Simpson
  • Rodrigo Santoro
  • Shannon Woodward
  • Ingrid Bolsø Berdal
  • Ben Barnes
  • Simon Quarterman
  • Angela Sarafyan
  • Luke Hemsworth
  • Clifton Collins, Jr.

And whilst they’re hoping this is their new Game of Thrones I’m hoping for a phenomenal Weird West ‘won’t feel guilty if I binge watch’ show.

Based on the Original 1973 Westworld by Michael Crichton

A theme park that allows guests with deep pockets to pretend to be gunslingers in the wild west, with android townspeople (to avoid unnecessary deaths I presume). When the computers crash the fun and games come to an end and the situation the players find themselves in becomes deadly. With some pretty big names itself, Yule Brynner, James Brolin, and Richard Benjamin, the original movie made 10 million at the box office. Written and directed by Michael Crichton this was the last movie produced by MGM.

P.S. Whilst I’m hunting the internet, podcasts, radio shows, my book shelves, for Western Horror & Weird West I would love to hear your favorites and recommendations – both old and new. Help me discover more Weird West and western horror to indulge in. Thanks 🙂
