Werewolves Within – Hats off to Mishna Wolff | KT Review

Lurved Werewolves Within! You know how I feel about werewolves, particularly on dark moonlit nights in the dark woods with a ground mist crawling through and you’re alone…brr-ah…

But this was a different kind of werewolf movie, the messed up and funny kind, the who is that lady and what was she thinking kind, the that guy’s got problems and so does that guy kind. So many fascinating characters to keep you guessing. So, thank you Mishna Wolff for writing this brilliant movie -will there be more?

Werewolves Within

An adaptation of the video game with the same name, Werewolves Within is about a small town where a proposed gas pipeline is causing problems amongst the residents. Their new forest ranger is just getting settled when he meets the postie, who is kind enough to show him around town, and introduce him to the locals. But when a snowstorm traps the locals together, they must figure out who or what is making it so difficult for them all to stay alive.

Starring Sam Richardson (Superintelligence, Promising Young Woman), Milana Vayntrub (This Is Us, Mother’s Little Helpers), George Basil (Desperados, Flaked), Sarah Burns (Barry, American Vandal), Michael Chernus (Spider-Man: Homecoming, Prodigal Son), and Catherine Curtin (Stranger Things, Homeland).

Review Conclusion

I would watch it again! A fun filled horror movie with twists and turns and a whole town of suspects and guns. And axes. I thought it was everyone but who it was, which I assume was the whole point, no point telling me early on who the werewolf is. That would spoil the fun. And the surprise, because it was a surprise. I don’t know if players of the game new before they watched it but I’ve never played the game so I had no idea, it was all new to me. Loved the quirky towns people and their weird interactions. I might have to download the script actually and read that, I think there’s a lot I could learn from this one about writing characters. Anyways, you should give it a watch, it’s a good one.

And what snacks did I bring to the couch with me on this occasion? Mostly chocolate and some on offer candy cane mentos I found in the chemist (how did I not know of their existence before this?). And a Nescafe 3-in-1 Caramel coffee.
