The Mule -Who Would Suspect the Old Guy | KT Review

You can’t go wrong with a Clint Eastwood movie and The Mule delivers. The characters are deep and have layers of life going on, they change and evolve, and even when they’re not the greatest person you still want to see what happens to them and what they do. And it’s not a rip-roaring action movie that speeds you along, it’s doddering and quaint.

Earl Stone is 90, broke, alone, and facing his business’ foreclosure when he’s offered a driving job. Little does he know the cargo is illegal and it isn’t long before a D.E.A. agent is hot on his heels. Or at least he would be if he could figure out who he was, Earl does so well the dealers increase his cargo and assign him a handler.

Starring Clint Eastwood(don’t really need to do this do I? Unforgiven, Gran Torino), Cesar De León (Mayans M.C., Get Shorty), Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story, In a Valley of Violence), Dianne Wiest (The Lost Boys -shut up, I know she’s been in other stuff, Life in Pieces), Ailson Eastwood (Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Hot bath an’ a Stiff Drink 2), and Bradley Cooper (A Star is Born, Limitless).

The Mule Review Conclusion

I would watch it again – This is the perfect film for a long afternoon when the weather’s not great outside and you want to be entertained. The characters are complex and nowhere near perfect, they have issues and depth and are enjoyable to watch. And that’s all the characters, not just the main ones. Earl has a lot of family stuff going on that he seems to be largely ignoring, he’s an old guy that doesn’t want to talk about his feelings. But he also has a job to do because he really needs the money, and he can drive, so why wouldn’t he let someone pay him to do that. Point A to point B. A great, engrossing watch. You should give it a watch if you haven’t already.
