The Killing of a Sacred Deer -Its Metaphorical, don’t you understand? | KT Review

Revenge is a dish best served cold

It wasn’t the description that made me want to watch The Killing of a Sacred Deer, it was the discussions I saw about the film in one of my horror movie groups. The way it made people feel…

The Killing of a Sacred Deer

After the death of his father, a teenage boy forms a bond with a surgeon who takes him under his wing. But when the boy’s behaviours become sinister the surgeon must make the ultimate sacrifice.

Starring Bill Camp (The Night of, Midnight Special), Raffey Cassidy (Snow White and the Huntsman, Dark Shadows), Denise Dal Vera (Homecoming, My Bloody Valentine), Colin Farrell (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, True Detective), Barry Keoghan (Dunkirk, ’71), and Nicole Kidman (Cold Mountain, Big Little Lies).

I wouldn’t watch it again: – It was very peculiar. Intriguing but flat. It was as if what was said was what people were thinking rather than the conversation they were having. And the only time the emotion appeared was when what they were thinking actually comes out of their mouths. I think this one was a little beyond me. I all I felt at the end was that I’d missed the point or not understood which God-tale it was.
