One, Two, Three, Four, Five…

When her father introduces her to a patient with multiple personalities, it’s with the intention of making her more open to explainable psychiatric theories. But the patient, Adam, is not what he seems. All of his personalities are murder victims. All of them real people. And as she begins to investigate the stakes become much higher. Soon she discovers what Adam really is.

Shelter stars Julianne Moore (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Kingsman: The Golden Circle)Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Dracula, The Tudors)Jeffrey DeMunn (The Green Mile, The Mist), Frances Conroy (American Horror Story, The Mist), Nate Corddry (Ghostbusters, The Circle), and Brooklynn Proulx (The Assassination of Jesse James, The Time Travellers Wife).

Where does the soul go if you don’t believe in heaven?  **spoilers ahead**

Ma’am, I was raised in the mountains. God held our hand and the Devil waited for us to fall. – David

Currently available on Netflix, this was a movie I hadn’t heard of before. Probably due to it’s delayed and limited release. Its original title was 6 Souls.

This is the kind of movie that builds from a seemingly simple story and keeps adding more complexity. You follow the journey of a psychiatrist, Cara, and her patient, David/Adam/Wesley, as they at first simply converse. Before long Cara is digging into the history of the personalities. Finding things she didn’t want to find. And putting her own friends and family in danger.

Shelter Review Conclusion

I would watch it again – A twisted and enjoyable movie. With each new revelation the tension builds and you hope she can find safety for her daughter.
