Argh I hate when they make me wait!!!
Horror movies are a Halloween staple – they are necessary, a requirement of the season (and every other season), and extra spooky on October 31st. No, I don’t know why but it’s true – honest. Once the Trick or Treaters have gone in for the night, and your candy bowl has only the dregs remaining you can settle down to some uninterrupted, lights off, curled up on the sofa, horror movie watching. It’s what I’ll be doing. I’m just not sure which one to watch – help me choose?
Horror Movies Released on (or before) October 31st
This is the true-ish story of Ed and Lorraine Warren, demonologists, on a case in North London. Where they try to help a single mother trying to raise her four children. Unfortunately the house they live in is also home to violent spirits who won’t leave them alone.
I enjoyed the first movie: The Conjuring, and I’m looking forward to seeing this one. But, it’s one of several horror movies available for Halloween.
If you’ve been following the blog you’ll know I’ve been looking forward to this one. The DVD and Blu-ray will be released on the 31st of October. And whilst the digital download has been available in some countries, we, once again, have not been able to get it in the UK.
Set in the midst of the modelling world in Los Angeles, an aspiring model’s innocence and youth make her a target for her more seasoned colleagues. With some particularly dark moments this movie is a heady mixture of bright lights and dark deeds. Can’t wait to get my hands on it.
The Burning Dead
If you’re into Zombie movies this film gives them a bit of a twist. Staring Danny Trejo, scientists warn that the local volcano is going to erupt and the sheriff begins to evacuate the town. But, the volcano doesn’t wait until everyone is safely out of its path and gushes molten lava down over the the land. Causing smoldering zombies to rise from it’s depths to continue to terrorize those remaining survivors.
I like Danny Trejo movies, but I’m a bit over the whole Zombie thing. It’s been done to death, resurrected, and then done again. But still, at least they’re on fire this time.
Hadn’t heard much about this one but it looks like it’ll be a fun watch on Halloween – especially with all the clowns about. Check out the trailer…
Six of the worlds worst serial killers break out of an asylum. And go on a little jaunt to the local Funfair. Where they proceed to maim and kill the customers who are simply trying to have a good time. Having watched the trailer, this ones a strong contender for my Halloween viewing pleasure.
But which to choose?
