Sharp Objects, Stitchers, Teen Wolf | July Roundup

July Roundup

Can’t believe we’ve been having such hot weather lately, it’s been easy to stay indoors and catch up on the various shows this month, from Stitchers to Sharp Objects to Lucky Man. Will this heat come to an end any time soon? Who knows, but whether we spend the rest of the summer wondering whether to buy towelling shorts or packing up the BBQ real quick because the rain arrived, there’s plenty heading to our screens to keep your mind off the heat -unless you have a leather sofa that is.

Sharp Objects

I’m totally loving Sharp Objects starring Amy Adams. From the author of Gone Girl, this story is about a reporter who returns to her hometown to cover a grisly murder but has to deal with the past she left behind.

Picnic at Hanging Rock

Honestly, I have no idea what’s going on in this show. It’s very strange – you should check it out for yourselves.

Stitchers

Using a living human subject to connect to the memories of the recently deceased doesn’t seem like the best idea, and the team have had their difficulties in the past. But with their new member, the stitching seems easier even if she is a little difficult to keep under control when it comes to leaving the detective work to the detectives.

New in brief
  • James Gunn was fired from Disney for a bunch of Twitter messages he posted 10 years ago and already apologised for.
  • Bill & Ted will start filming in February as long as they can secure funding.
  • John Wick will feature gun fight stunts from horseback.
  • Tarantino has been filming Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and making the streets appear like they’ve gone back in time.
  • Eli Roth and Lorenza Izzo have decided to separate after four years of marriage but will continue working together.

I’ve released the first in the Noctisbellum Inc. series which begins my monster universe.

Stars is the story of a girl determined to be a famous ghost hunter who ends up in the clutches of monsters. If you get it from Smashwords you can set the price (which means, if you’re tempted but not sure, you can read it for free).

And now the second book, Moon, is also available. This is the novella that began as a CryptTV/Inkshares entry, wanted to be a script and is currently entered in the ScreenCraft Horror Competition. And is now available for download.
