The Thriller You Weren’t Expecting | Bad Habit by K.T. McQueen

The thriller is not the usual genre from K.T. McQueen but with a degree in forensics and a masters in fire and major incident response it could be expected. Bad Habit is the first foray into a new genre.

Hired by a victim’s affluent father, a conflicted fixer must make a resurfaced serial killer her prey.

I woke up one morning with this idea in my head, almost the entire novel laid out from beginning to end in a vague form. I let it fester for a while, never writing the idea down at the first occurrence, and allowed it to mature. By the end of the day, I had an outline and ideas. And within a month I had the first draft.

But this story makes me nervous. A little afraid. Perhaps even out of my depth. And definitely very nervous of sharing it with the world. So give check it out and let me know what you think, but if you could whisper it that would be great 😉 I hope you enjoy it. I hope you want more. And I hope that eventually, Kayla can find the answers she needs.

Kayla is a Fixer with a Past she can’t Fix | Bad Habit

Hired by people willing to do whatever it takes, her biggest client, Mr King, is a very rich businessman with shady connections. His daughter is the only surviving victim of the serial killer, Phi-Xi, who was never caught.

Phi-Xi, has resurfaced and Mr King wants him to pay, no matter what it takes. Which means Kayla has to investigate the same murder scenes as her police officer ex, Cosh, who is eager to catch the serial killer his dead Uncle couldn’t.
With a little help from Mr King’s connections, Cosh convinces his superiors to bring Kayla on board as a consultant.

Phi-Xi, on the other hand, is living his perfect life, beautiful wife, beautiful home, cushy well paying job, and a nice hobby to keep him entertained as he runs rings around the police.

As she begins to investigate Kayla starts to understand that Phi-Xi is talking to someone, if only they could work out who.
And when Kayla finally puts the pieces together she must leave the police in her wake as she rushes to do what she’s paid to do before Phi-Xi vanishes again.
