October Faction -Every Family has Secrets | KT Review

First things first, I’ve never read the October Faction comic book series. Before seeing the trailers for the Netflix series I had never even heard of it before. But it looked interesting so I put it on and I wasn’t disappointed. Family secrets can sometimes get out of hand when not everyone is in on them. And these family secrets are the regular kind and the supernatural kind.

October Faction Review

Now on Netflix

A family history of monster hunting, passed down from one generation to the next doesn’t prevent these monster hunting parents from keeping the truth from their own kids. But it’s only a matter of time before they discover the truth and with a few secrets of their own the sharing is only going to get more complicated.

Starring Maxim Roy (Bad Blood, Shadowhunters), Tamara Taylor (Bones, Altered Carbon), J.C. MacKenzie (The Wolf of Wall Street, The Irishman), Aurora Burghart (Sex Education, There She Goes), Gabriel Darku (Impulse, Shadowhunters), and Wendy Crewson (The Covenant, Frankie Drake Mysteries).

October Faction Review Conclusion

I would watch more:- A ten episode series was a good length for this show, rounding out the story and keeping you watching and guessing. No wandering off on tangents and all the back story happened in a way that kept it moving forward unlike some recent shows that dedicate entire episodes to back story. I loved the characters and the arguments, the normalcy of the family and the normal experiences of life mixed in with this supernatural life that most people aren’t even aware of and which just adds to the complications.

With some great practical effects as well as special effects this show felt warm and welcoming, so long as you ignore the blood smears in the kitchen and maybe the rumors about the family. I would more than happily watch another season or two.

Moon by K.T. McQueen

A young woman with a promise to keep.
Another with a curse to lift.
And a werewolf looking for a new mate.
When Alice invited her friends, Sarah, Paul, and Dave to stay in her Grandmother’s Romanian farmstead they were expecting to take a break from studying and have a good time. Of course, that wasn’t the only reason Alice was there but her friends didn’t need to be involved in that. And she could happily show them where her family was from. And the town where she had spent her summers without them ever suspecting anything.
But then they meet the hunter, the werewolves catch their scent, and Sarah reveals a secret that could end her friendship with Alice and spell disaster for all of them.
