Ever wanted a pro to help you make your horror movie – & provide the funding?

Well your dreams could be about to come true!

Clive Barker wants to help you make your horror movie. Like, literally. Of course, he can’t fund and help produce everyone’s horror movie so there are some hoops for you to jump through first. And they may or may not be on fire – just kidding, the only fire is the one you need up your butt to create a 1 to 3 minute pitch of your original horror movie idea. And then upload it to Project Greenlight before 17th of March – that’s plenty of time right?

Clive Barker

horror movie, clive barker, candyman

There are some movies you’ll always remember from your younger years. For me this includes Candyman which I first watched on my own, very late at night when I was about 15. Clive Barker wrote and directed Candyman, Hellraiser, Nightbreed, Midnight Meat Train, Dread and many more. As well as writing novels, novellas, non-fiction, poetry, creating art, and graphic novels. You can find all the info you want on Clive Barker’s many talents right here (I love the cat pictures).

Project Greenlight Digital Studios

A story-driven, opportunity creating, community for film makers and their ideas. And where the contest is being held.

You can upload your pitch from February 13th and from those pitches ten semi-finalists are picked to go into the next round. Those entries are then judged by a panel and the public to advance five entrants. Those lucky five will then be asked to shoot a short scene to show what they can do (and which is also funded).

Next there’s a retreat and the opportunity to learn more about your craft before one winner is selected to develop their film with the help of Mister Barker and $300,000 funding. So polish that script, grab that camera, and get ready – you could be on your way to horror movie fame.

What’s your Horror Movie?

Are you entering? Let us know in the comments if you’re planning on entering and what your movie is about. And the title if you have one so we can follow your project and vote 🙂
