There are many other Horror Anime and live action versions to dive into. Here are 8 to curl up to this weekend – feel like a kid again, cereal, jammies, and Anime (without any sign of the hoover or the smell of dinner cooking).
Horror Anime the Cool Kids Watch (do we still use cool?)
Hellsing Ultimate
Hellsing is a secret organisation which protects the British Empire from Vampires. Big guns and strange powers help make the rouge vampire Arucard their secret weapon.
Tokyo Ghoul
Creatures that hunger for human flesh live in Tokyo amongst the humans, almost indistinguishable from them. When one young man crosses paths with a hungry Ghoul he becomes the first half breed. Now he has to find a way to survive in both worlds.
This series has a Japanese live action movie 🙂
Attack on Titan
With huge walls to protect them the remaining human population lives peacefully. Safe from the Titans beyond. But Colossal Titan breaks through the wall and brings a horde of others with him. The remaining people must try to survive and block the hole in the wall.
Highschool of the Dead
Set in a school, this Horror Anime is about a zombie virus that is spreading like wildfire. A small group of students, who survived the initial outbreak but are at risk from their fellow students and teachers, must survive and escape before they too become one of the living dead.
Parasyte
Love the parasytes in this one, they remind me a little of Beetlejuice.
When a parasyte comes to earth and begins to infect people, taking over their brains, one boy manages to stop his from reaching that far. Unfortunately it’s stuck in his hand. With a life and thought process of it’s own they must work together to defend themselves from other parasytic humans and defend the boy’s friends and family.
Corpse Party
So Corpse Party is an Anime, a Live Action Movie, and a Game – with plenty of sequels to keep you engrossed. After a highschool celebration a bunch of highschool students are transported to another dimension where they find themselves in a dilapidated school building. The building is haunted and one ghost is seeking vengeance.
Deadman Wonderland
Framed for a crime he didn’t commit, Ganta is sent to a prison called Deadman Wonderland. He has to survive the bizarre things within the prison walls and figure out what actually happened to have him sent to prison for deaths of the classmates he was framed for massacring.
Elfen Lied
A kind family takes the lost and amnesic Lucy into their care, unaware that she’s a genetically altered human with destructive powers. They have no idea where she came from, or what violence she committed to be where she was when they met her.
That should be enough Horror Anime to keep you busy
At least for a few days. And if you haven’t tried Anime before, maybe now’s the time -if you wanna be one of the cool kids 😉
