Dennis Nilson to be Played by David Tennant | KT News

David Tennant has played many varied roles, and this new role sees him taking on the character of serial killer Dennis Nilson. Previously taking on the role of The Doctor, starring in Good Omens as Crowley, Jessica Jones as Killgrave, and lending his voice to animated characters in DuckTales and How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, his voice is instantly recognisable.

Dennis Nilson

Dennis Nilson, on the other hand, is known for murdering 12 young men between ’78 and ’83 in London. Unnoticed until complaints made by the tenants about the plumbing -including by Nilson himself- and when small bones and flesh were found the police were called.

He was sentenced to life in November of ’83 for 6 counts of murder and 2 of attempted murder. He died in 2018.

Dennis Nilsen’s crimes shocked the nation in the early 1980s. Our programme focuses on the emotional impact of those terrible crimes, both on those who came into contact with Nilsen himself, and also on the victims’ families. We’re thrilled to be working with Luke and Lewis on this project, as well as the incredible cast.

Des

Des (as it is titled) is written by Luke Neal and Kelly Jones. And this three-part ITV drama series will be based on the book by Brian Masters, Killing for Company, which covers the arrest and trial of Dennis Nilson from three very distinct points of view. You can grab a copy of the book from Amazon and acquaint yourself with the story. It will likely be a while before we actually get the show.
