Death Count -It’s all about the likes | KT Review

If you’re the kind of person who cuddles up with a bowl of snacks, a hot drink, and your favourite blanket for a cosy night in watching Saw or Hostel or even Final Destination, Death Count might just be the next movie to add to your watch list. But don’t expect to pay too much attention to anything but the screen, this one is an eyeball grabber.

**There may be spoilers ahead**

Death Count

Strangers awaken in individual holding cells with no memory of how they arrived. They realize if they don’t acquire enough online “likes” in a timely manner, they’ll die horribly at the hands of a sinister executioner.

Numbers – IMDb

Starring Costas Mandylor (Saw V, VI & IV), Sarah French (Pretty Boy, The Special), Robert LaSardo (The Mule, Death Race), Devanny Pinn (The Dawn, Crossbreed), BJ Mezek (Attack of the Unknown, Bridge of the Doomed), and Michael Madsen (The Hateful Eight, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood).

What I Thought of this Movie

I’d watch it again (with a bigger cushion to hide behind): This movie doesn’t hang around and the gore comes hard and fast with the contestants quickly learning to comply. That first task though…eugh! Like Saw, like Hostel, like Final Destination there are scenes I had to watch from behind the safety of my hand -I’m so embarrassed 🤣. But it’s not all about the blood and gore (which is done really well, I have to say) and as you get more and more engrossed you start learning the truth behind the game, the reason they found themselves there in the first place and how all the contestants are connected. All you can do is keep watching and hope the detectives make it in time. Because if that guy gets away…

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Out on July 19th in North America -I’ll update with UK dates when I have them
