A Cure for Wellness -drink the water | KT Review

Few movies make me turn away in horror…

Situated in a castle in the remote Swiss Alps this wellness centre has the most remarkable views, and remote location. Which at first seams tranquil to Lockhart, but quite irrelevant, when he goes to retrieve the company CEO. A Cure for Wellness is soon pressed upon him and it isn’t long before he, himself, is a patient.

Starring Dane DeHaan as Lockhart (Lawless, Valerian)Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter, Star Trek: Discovery)Mia Goth  (Everest, The Tunnel), and directed by Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, The Lone Ranger).

It’s such a lovely place for a spa **spoilers ahead**

What seemed like a charming, lovely place at first soon turned those caring people into something way more sinister. That toilet for instance would really have got on my nerves. But I could have happily coped with sitting around in a bathrobe reading or napping in between treatments. I wouldn’t even have minded the eels in the tank with me so much.

But that dentist! OMG! I would have run screaming from the building as fast as my little slippered feet would let me. I couldn’t watch the screen, I had to turn away hiding pathetically behind my hands.

It took a while to be completely certain that something was going on, and then a while longer to figure it out. I was intrigued. I wanted to know. I kept watching – despite the possibility of more dental work. And I thoroughly enjoyed it.

A Cure for Wellness

A Cure for Wellness Review Conclusion

I would watch it again – A Cure for Wellness was not at all what I was expecting but was, nevertheless, a good movie. A little strange, rather twisted, and just a couple of fl ounces over the to slow to watch mark. It took it’s time to get to know you, decide what might be wrong with you, and which treatment would be best suited to your particular form of wellness. And then there was the dentist.
