All Hail #Britannia – The Druids Have Answered!

It’s not Game of Thrones

For those of you hoping Britannia was going to be the next game of thrones, it’s not. There are no dragons, the sex scenes are tame, and it’s not an imaginary land with grand castles and knights in shining armour. It’s Britain in 43AD. It’s mostly forest, rivers, rivers and stones. Yes, there’s horses, and wolves, and bears. Yes, there are Queens, Kings, Invading armies, and Magic. And yes, there’s a plot that twists its way through all of them until you don’t know who to trust and who is going to turn on who next. Gods-dammit Brittania, you got me hooked.

[**UPDATE**Annabel Scholey, who plays Amena, said on Sunday Brunch, 22nd April, that filming for Season 2 was about to begin]

Britannia

It’s 43AD and the Roman Imperial Army are back in Britain to try to crush the people and turn them to Rome’s Rule. But with Druids who can speak with the Gods and channel the forces of the underworld, and warrior women who rule as fiercely as the men, the invading army is both determined and terrified.

Britannia Review Conclusion

When can I watch Season 2???? – Come onnnn! I need to know what happens next. I love the humour in it, the sarcasm, the magic. The little, unexplained pettiness between certain characters. The hints that there’s always way more going on. The uncertainty about the reality of the magic. The weird foods. I want more.
