Blood on Satan’s Claw starring Mark Gatiss | KT Review

An Audio Treat

Something a little different for you this week. Managed to get my hands on Blood on Satan’s Claw, an audio adaptation of the 70’s horror classic. Starring Mark Gatiss and produced by Bafflegab Productions.

Blood on Satan's Claw

Blood on Satan’s Claw – Folk Horror

A 17th-century village is overcome by a Satanic plague when a hideous skull is found in the furrows of a farmer’s field. Quickly falling under the devil’s spell, the village youth retreat to the woodlands to conduct games of sexual violence and sacrifice.

Starring Mark Gatiss (Sherlock, Taboo), Reece Shearsmith (Shaun of the Dead, The League of Gentlemen), Alice Lowe (Prevenge, The World’s End), John Heffernan (Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, Dickensian), Ralph Ineson (The Witch, Guardians of the Galaxy), Thomas Turgoose (Kingsman: The Golden Circle, This is England), Rebecca Ryan (Shameless, Doctors), Philip Hill-Pearson (Good Cop, War horse), and Linda Hayden who played Angel Blake in the original movie. Adapted by Mark Morris.

Blood on Satan’s Claw Review Conclusion

I would listen to it again – A dark and engaging drama best listened to alone in the dark. It’s atmospheric and well paced, leading you through the fields and houses as if you were there too. From someone who hasn’t seen the original movie, Blood on Satan’s Claw kept me under its spell from beginning to end. Loved it!
